Anglers Federation MembershipThe WFCA is run by members of the UK board of fisheries and welcomes you to join our organization free. Members receive updated information regarding the best places to fish in the west of England and Wales and supply members with benefits such as discounted rates on short term accommodation (tents are also available for a small rental fee).
Many anglers are familiar with the region and enjoy its beauty on a yearly basis starting at the beginning of the season right through to the end one can enjoy the hospitality offered by our wildlife and game who accompany guests during their stay. The WFCA has always supported conservation of wildlife through angling. Protection of our inland waters for angling will also provide a safe haven for wildlife and wildfowl. Many anglers are traveling abroad to catch bigger bags of fish or to catch more exotic species of fish and much bigger fish than you would normally catch at home however this practice is not encouraged by the committee who promote safe on shore fishing and sustainable practices throughout the season. The policy of the WFCA is that any person wishing to coach or work with young people must be a registered FWA Angling Coach. The cost associated of becoming a coach is not that expensive and the cost can be covered through obtaining a grant from your local Community Chest Fund (check out our Funding for Projects Section). Coaching It is essential that any person who is currently coaching children look to undertake the FWA Coaching Foundation Level 1 Coaching Course. Every person who undertakes the roll of becoming a coach must undergo an Enhanced CRB Check and these are carried out by selected-trained personnel within the FWA Coaching Foundation in conjunction with the Criminal Records Bureau. There are many more resources we have available for members so if you are interested in any of the services we provide we encourage to sign up and become a member free of charge. |
